Professor of Play?

Interesting marketing campaign by Lego

I guess the application is closed by now but I do hope it has brought about a deeper level of awareness that play is a critical part of learning and education.  I just want to share three things:

1. While Lego may mean play, play does not necessarily refers to playing Lego alone. A big part of play is using out imagination and taking whatever that's around us, it build resourcefulness and creativity.

2. It is important to continue to research into play as an educational tool, let's be mindful that the last thing we want is to make play a "subject" and researchers playground, structured and limited.

3. We should just go play every now and then. Learn from some of the leaders in this field- the kids.
(Leave all devices behind)

Enjoy!
